The LS Alumni Ambassador Award is presented to an NYU alumnus of Liberal Studies Core or Global Liberal Studies to honor dedication and meaningful impact within the Liberal Studies community and commitment to addressing global challenges through engagement, innovation and/or creative practice. Honorees demonstrate an exemplary dedication to Liberal Studies and reflect our global, interdisciplinary, and engaged vision.

Anushua Choudhury (GLS ’16)

Anushua Choudhury (GLS ’16)'s academic accomplishments were matched by her outstanding commitment to student life at Liberal Studies (LS) and New York University. During her time at NYU, she served as the Student Council Senator for LS, LS Orientation Leader and Captain, Inter-Residence Hall council leader, Buenos Aires Site Ambassador, 1831 Fund Global Ambassador, Class Activities Board representative, and Admissions Ambassador. Throughout her time at NYU, Anushua has not only been just an enthusiastic participant in programming and governance but also a strong advocate for social justice and equitable representation, understanding the importance of responsible leadership among her peers.
Anushua has also been an advocate in her local communities, participating as a political organizer in her hometown of Long Island, NY; a human rights intern for an NGO in Argentina during her junior year abroad; and currently as a researcher for the NYS Attorney General’s office. As an alumna, she is a Community Service Lead for the NYU Recent Alumni Network, a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, and she continues to stay involved in LS alumni programming by participating in alumni panels and speaking at admissions recruitment and new student events. In 2019, she participated in alumni events that took place as part of the GLS at 10 Years celebrations.
