The Program in Africana Studies offers a multi-continental and interdisciplinary approach to the study of black culture and identity, literature, history and politics. The analytical skills and techniques we emphasize—the ability to interpret, analyze, and organize data and to communicate, and the ability to write effectively—are invaluable tools in any profession. Africana majors pursue careers in business, film, law, international affairs, social work, public policy and medicine. Many students also pursue graduate education. The Africana Studies Program is geared to address a broad range of career interests.
