Computer Workstation Packages

Overview

The following are the current FAS/CIT recommended configurations for workstations and mobile computing. The machine configurations are based on NYU standards for computers. Please speak with the rollout team if you would like to discuss different configurations and costs based on your individual needs.

Replacement/New machines for faculty may be chosen from the Standard PC Desktop or Standard PC Laptop. FAS will fund $1,000 toward Apple and higher-end desktops and laptops, with the remainder paid from research funds. If research funds are not available, you may send an appeal to fas.rollout@nyu.edu to seek additional funding.

Replacement/New machines for Staff must be the Standard PC Workstation. If a Mac Workstation is desired, a business justification must be sent to fas.rollout@nyu.edu. Any costs above $1000.00 must be paid with departmental or research funds. We only put FAS funding toward the following machine models:

  • Apple iMac Desktop / MacMini
  • Apple MacBook Pro / Macbook Air Laptops

Standard Apple Workstation

**Requires an additional $568.00 over FAS contribution of $1000.00, Total cost $1568**

This workstation is intended for the entry level Macintosh user.
