Stephanie J. Stiefel, CPA, Managing Director, joined Neuberger Berman in 1990. Stephanie is the Head of Client Development for the Straus Group, within the firm’s Private Asset Management division. Prior to her current position, she served as Head of Wealth Management, leading a team providing high net worth individuals and families, as well as small to medium-sized institutions, with discretionary investment management and trust services. Prior to joining the firm, Stephanie worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. as a personal financial planner and senior tax manager, specializing in tax consultation, financial planning and family wealth issues. She earned a BA from Queens College and is a Certified Public Accountant. Stephanie established a Charitable Remainder Trust in memory of her late husband at Lehigh University.
She serves on the Board of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at New York University and is a Trustee on the Board at Queens College. She has previously served as the Head of the Investment Committee at Queens College, and was a member of the Central Synagogue Board of Directors and the Jewish Communal Fund Board. In 2014, Stephanie was Alumna of the Year at Queens College. This marks Stephanie’s sixth consecutive year in the top five of the Barron’s Top 100 Women Financial Advisor list and her third year as #3 in the country. She was also featured twice by Barron’s in 2019 discussing her financial planning advice for divorcees and highlighting her holistic approach to financial planning with clients. Stephanie was also a guest on CNBC’s “Power Lunch.”
