Danielle Jackson works with leading photographers, filmmakers, and cultural institutions to develop projects, partnerships, and initiatives for social impact. She is the co-founder and former co-director of the Bronx Documentary Center of the Bronx Documentary Center (BDC), a community-based gallery and educational space that uses photojournalism and documentary film to create conversation on social change. Formerly, she ran the cultural department at Magnum Photos NY.
Her projects have been covered in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR, The Washington Post, and numerous international and trade publications. She is on the faculty at Stanford in New York and the International Center of Photography. As critic and curator, her current research interests include media studies, visual culture, and gentrification. She is a graduate of New York University and holds a BFA in Film and Television and MA in Africana Studies.
Ms. Jackson will be holding office hours at XE the last Monday of every month, 4-6pm.
