Silva (University of Hawai‘i, Mānoa) will speak on aloha ‘āina as kinship and foundation for Kanaka ontology, and how this is expressed in published writing by Joseph Kanepuu (1824-ca 1886) and Joseph Mokuohai Poepoe (1854-1913).
