Arts and Science summer programs are integral to our larger educational and research goals. Among these goals are CAS's aim of ensuring that every student has a study abroad experience. Summer is increasingly important for students who need to complete certain CAS and GSAS degree requirements. A key feature of the joint BA/MA degree program, for example, is the accelerated accumulation of undergraduate or graduate credits by summer study. Stand-alone master's programs provide a similar opportunity. Finally, the summer term generates significant resources for Arts and Science that are used to support our programmatic initiatives such as faculty expansion, graduate financial aid, and computing support.
The Office of Summer Programs - On-Campus & Abroad was established to coordinate all the various aspects of summer at Arts and Science. We offer over 300 courses on campus at the graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as courses at twelve summer programs abroad.
Our role in both abroad and on campus programs is to help departments and programs plan and implement summer offerings. We advise departments on policy and procedures related to all University offices, including the NYU Center for Study Abroad and Special Sessions, the Registrar, Bursar, Fiscal Services and Payroll.
Questions regarding summer-on-campus, summer budgets, summer appointment process, registration, cancelled courses, and low enrolled courses should be addressed to our office.
All matters relating to summer study abroad programs should be addressed to our office.
