Connie Milstein
Connie Milstein has established New York University’s Constance Milstein and Family Academic Center in Washington, DC. The Center sets NYU’s permanent presence as a “home away from home” for NYU students where they are given access to the capital’s distinctive intellectual, political and cultural life.
Connie graduated from New York University and currently serves as a trustee. In 2007, Connie launched NYU’s Collegiate Seminar Program, an exclusive program for freshman entering the College of Arts and Science. The Arts and Science faculty that teach these seminars also serve as the students’ mentors throughout their undergraduate careers. NYU honored Connie with the College of Arts and Science Distinguished Service Award in 2009 and the Albert Gallatin Medal for Outstanding Contributions to Society in 2010.
A devoted philanthropist, Connie Milstein was the driving force behind the creation of the Vivian and Seymour Milstein Family Heart Center. The Heart Center is a world-renowned heart facility at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where Connie has been a trustee since 2000. Connie is a long time supporter of medical research and serves on the board of directors of CURE (Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy). She believes in giving back to the country that has given her so much and has done so through the Blue Star Families. As a board member, Connie actively works to support military families and has helped launch the BSF “Adopt a Base” program and “Blue Star Museums.”
As Principal and Co-Founder of Ogden CAP Properties, LLC, Connie guides the company’s real estate, hotel and development operations. Connie also founded Connie’s Bakery & General Store, a socially responsible bakery that donates 100% of its net profits to charity and has a vital job training program. Furthermore, she is Co-Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Humpty Dumpty Institute, a non-profit organization established to solve international issues through public-private partnerships.
After graduating from NYU, Connie went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University Law School. She currently resides in Washington, DC with her husband.
