Completed Dockets Due for Faculty Whose Tenure Clock Began in the Spring
Department Chair must forward completed tenure dockets (original and 20 copies) to the Office of the Associate Dean.

Preliminary Materials Due for Faculty Whose Tenure Clock Began in the Fall
Department Chair must forward relevant materials (CV, statement of teaching and research interests, lists of evaluators and publications) to the Office of the Associate Dean.

Request for Sabbaticals, Leaves, and Teaching at Other Institutions Due
Requests for sabbatical leaves for either or both terms of the 2012/2013 Academic Year must be submitted to the Office of Human Resources Administration by this date in order to be considered.

Deadline for Third Year Review Recommendations for Faculty Hired January 2009
Third year formal performance reviews of tenure-track Assistant Professors hired January 2009 should reach the Divisional Dean and the Dean of the Faculty no later than this date.

The Annual Faculty Merit Ranking Process Begins
Late January (TBD)

Deadline for Faculty Annual Merit Ranking Procedure memo.
Human Resources Administration (HRA) sends out the ranking worksheet once the procedure is approved.
March 2012
March 5
Deadline for the Faculty Annual Merit Rankings.
The divisional dean reviews the rankings. The faculty C.V.s and Personnel Supplement Forms must also be submitted to HRA at this time.

Preliminary Materials for New Hires with Tenure Due
Preliminary materials (CV, statement of teaching and research interests, lists of evaluators and publications) are due to the Office of the Associate Dean
March 23
The department chair must notify each faculty member about his/her annual merit ranking in writing.
Faculty members are free to appeal their merit ranking to the divisional dean.
Late March or Early April
The Faculty Annual Merit Rankings are converted into dollar amounts.
HRA sends out the salary worksheet to the department for the chair’s review. Faculty should not be notified of their recommended departmental pool allocation.

Last Day to Submit Recommendation for Reappointment and/or Promotion of a Language Lecturer or Senior Language Lecturer to Dean’s Office
Department Chairs must submit completed review packets to the relevant Divisional Dean and the Dean of the Faculty, along with a recommendation for reappointment or termination.
Last Day to Submit Recommendation for Reappointment and/or Promotion of a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor to Dean’s Office
Department Chairs must submit completed review packets to the relevant Divisional Dean and the Dean of the Faculty, along with a recommendation for reappointment or termination.

Deadline for the Faculty Annual Merit Increase salary worksheet.
The chair must return the worksheet with his/her approval and/or recommendations.

Deadline to Submit Tenure Dockets for New Hires with Tenure
The Department Chair must submit the completed Tenure Docket (original and 8 copies) for any new hires with tenure.

Last Day to Revise/Cancel Sabbaticals or Leaves for AY12-13
Requests to revise or cancel approved sabbatical leaves for which approval has already been granted will not be considered by the Office of Human Resources Administration after this date, except under extraordinary circumstances.

Paperwork for Summer 2011 Appointments Must Be Delivered to Payroll by 5pm
Departments must complete appointment paperwork for all summer instructors, including faculty, TAs, and adjuncts. All paperwork must be approved by Fiscal Services prior to being submitted.

Annual Planning Report (APR) Due for All Arts & Science Departments, Programs, Institutes, and Centers
Preparation of the APR is the primary responsibility of the unit administrator, although certain sections (e.g. Faculty Staffing, Summer Study Abroad) will require direct consultation with the chair or director of the unit.
Deadline for Proposals for New Summer 2011 Study Abroad Programs
If your department wishes to propose a new study abroad program, this plan should be articulated in the APR and then a detailed program proposal must be included with the APR submission.

Graduate Student Support Roster Section of ASIS opens
Departments and programs should carefully update rosters to reflect support plans for the 2007-2008 academic year, as they will be the basis for the development of financial aid budgets. Departments are encouraged to complete support plans as early as possible.

Deadline to send responses to eligible adjuncts’ reappointment request letters.

Last Day to Update Graduate Student Support Rosters Prior to Review
If support plans are completed earlier than May 23rd, the department should notify the Director of Fiscal Affairs, Kristy Cusick (ext. 87565), to begin the review process.
