Grammatical Analysis II

This course is a continuation of Grammatical Analysis and offers an in depth examination of various topics in Syntax. The primary course objective is to introduce students to primary literature in syntactic theory in order to further develop their critical reading and writing skills so that they may carry out an independent research project of their own. Topics will vary from year to year and may include (but are not limited to) Binding Theory, Control, Case Theory, Constraints on Movement, Antisymmetry, Argument Structure and Applicatives, Ellipsis, and Derivation by Phase.
