Historians on the faculty of the Irish and Irish-American Studies Program at NYU pursue research on a variety of topics, including Early Modern and Atlantic History, Irish Economic History, Modernization Studies, Irish Politics, Irish Migration and the Global Irish Diaspora, Oral History, and the History of the Irish Language.
Students who wish to be considered for a Scholarship in Irish Historical Studies should complete the application form and should use the essay question to state how they would take advantage of faculty expertise and course offerings. Which topics do you hope to research? How has previous study prepared you for more advanced work? Are there particular historical problems to which you are drawn?
