The NYU Program in International Relations invites applications for Visiting Scholar positions at our Washington Square campus in New York City. Visiting Scholars are individuals who are looking to focus on research and writing in the field of International Relations (IR). Visiting Scholars may be either pre-doctoral (ABD), post-doctoral, or advanced scholars on sabbatical leave to complete a research project.
Visiting Scholars are non-stipendiary positions. All scholars should have their own funding. The Program in International Relations will provide office space, computing equipment, NYU email, library access, and some research support staff. NYU will also sponsor qualified international visitors.
Visiting Scholars are welcome to file applications to visit NYU for one, two, or three academic semesters (ND: Fall Semester: September-December; Spring Semester: late Januar to May; Summer Semester: May-July). Applications for Visiting Fellowships should include a cover letter, outlining your reason for a research visit at NYU, your academic CV, and a brief one-two page proposal about the work you intend to undertake at NYU.
Please note that our office space and resources are limited. A selection committee will choose Visiting Scholars. Applications are accepted year round, however, for priority consideration candidates should email their application packs to Tina Lam, at firstname.lastname@example.org by 1 May for visits starting in the Fall Semester and 1 October for visits in Spring or Summer Semester.
