Study Away Opportunities

NYU has embarked on the project of developing an expansive global network, to become a university that challenges the idea that a university can only deliver education at a single home campus. Instead, we have created a structure that allows students and faculty to gather in a set of key locales around the globe to forge new ideas, advance the questions we ask about the world, and create solutions for the problems that beset us all.

The Program in International Relations makes use of NYU’s extensive global facilities through a series of special sessions, in particular our summer study away opportunities.

Students enrolled in the MA program have the opportunity to study and undertake a field study work placement in both Washington D.C. and in London, England.

NYU staff in DC and London work with MA students to arrange work placement. Students will also be able to undertake an IR or General Elective course.

Students interested in the DC or London summer study away opportunities should contact the director of studies, Prof. Michael John Williams.

The IR Program will be running the study away program at NYU Washington, DC for the second consecutive year for summer 2016. The program’s availability is based on student interest.

Students can also consider the university's other offerings such as NYU Steinhardt's Graduate Summer Study Abroad Programs.
