Miranda Field was born and raised in London, England. Her first book,
Swallow, won a Katharine Bakeless Nason Literary Publication Award in Poetry, and she has also received a "Discovery"/
The Nation Award, a Pushcart Prize, and a Teaching Fellowship at Bread Loaf. Her poems and essays appear in numerous journals, magazines, and anthologies. She lives in New York City with poet Tom Thompson and their two children, and teaches creative writing at The New School.
