Isabel Hofmeyr is Professor of African Literature at the University of the
Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and Global Distinguished Professor at NYU. Her
recent books include Gandhi’s Printing Press: Experiments in Slow Reading (2013)
and Ten Books that Shaped the British Empire: Creating and Imperial Commons
(2015) (edited with Antoinette Burton).
