FINAL ITEM LIST!
On Friday, May 17th, the Arts and Science Department of Economics will hold its 8th Charity auction at the Econ department. As in previous years, our proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society. However, this year we are open to including other charities so that you may choose where your donation goes. If you have a specific charity in mind please contact us before May 1st to make the appropriate arrangements. We invite all faculty members, staff members and students to participate.
How can you contribute?
1. Come and bid on May 17th
Not only is it for a great cause, it is also the only day of the year we all laugh the most. We are not kidding. You do not want to miss this. This year we will continue with two fantastic presenters, Anna Airoldi and James Graham!
2. Donate an item that will be auctioned off
All ideas are welcome, even the most original and crazy ones. In the past, people have auctioned memorable items such as paella nights, a week in beautiful Paris, vodka prank shots, original typewritten WP versions of seminal papers, poetry dedicated to your research, house made liquor, tennis, salsa, Argentinian asados, negroni nights.... Feel free to reach out to the organizers to see prior year's auction list items or for some brainstorming!
3. Blind bids or match a winning bid
You can always let us know your valuation and we’ll bid for you!
4. Finally, you can also make a direct donation
As in past years, The American Cancer Society will give us a few slots to run the NYC Marathon and the NYC Half Marathon. We are very proud of people who have run the Marathon in the past.... so, if you want a chance to participate in the most famous races in the world, you should stop by!
