Applicants need to submit a 3 minutes video to introduce yourself and your speech. Applicants are also encouraged to submit an outline of your speech no less than 300 character, but it is not required. All the application materials will be reviewed by the Speech Contest Committee first, then 15 finalist participants will be invited to take part in the final contest. The top 15 finalist will be notified by Friday, October 27th.
The theme of the speech is selected by the contestants. Contestants are free to develop the content based on their own language learning and life experiences. Contestants should memorize the speech. Points will be deducted for reading.
Contestants deliver their speech with 3-5 minutes. Points will be deducted if the speech is either too short or too long for their grade levels, as determined by the judges.
The purpose of the speech contest is to foster good language skills. Emphasis is placed on accuracy in pronunciation and tones, fluency, delivery, cadence, as well as content.
