Drawing from experiences at the National Security Council, this course will function, in part, as an NSC directorate meeting where students will play the role of senior director and be tasked to provide an assessment in briefing and memorandum form of an emergent or exigent situation to a hypothetical US president. The ultimate goal of this seminar is to provide "a sense" of the functions and instruments of policymaking in the international arena.
