Adv Business Chinese I

PREREQUISITE: V33.0204, INTERMEDIATE CHINESE II OR EQUAVILENT.

OPEN TO NYU STUDENT ONLY. Students must complete EAST-UA 204 or EAST-UA 232 or equivalent course. Please contact ruobing.wei@nyu.edu for a permission code. This course is specifically designed for NYU Summer in NYC students who have successfully completed Intermediate Chinese II at NYU, or equivalent, upon registration. The objectives of the course are: To further improve oral and written communicative competence by incorporating semi-formal or formal usages related to Chinese business culture To acquire specialized vocabulary and patterns necessary for conducting semi-formal or formal discussions related to business topics: to increase reading speed of texts with more advanced syntax, to learn to make context-based guess about the meaning of a new word, conduct sentence analysis and solve syntactical problems, an to write and present more fully developed narrative and structured exposition and argument.
