Mitch Teplitsky returns with a follow-up to his 2008 documentary SOY ANDINA. This time, the Andina (Nelida Silva) moves back to her remote Peruvian birthplace, after 20 years in NY, to help rural women start businesses -- but ends up running for mayor against ten men, fed up with with the corruption and decline of her town.
This is a rare opportunity to view a documentary "rough cut" and offer feedback to the filmmakers that will help shape the final film. The screening will be followed by discussion with Mitch (director/producer), Palu Abadia (cameraperson & editor), and our very own NYU CLACS graduate Doris Loayza (associate producer and a character in the film!)
