The Chemists' Club Student Chapter
One of The Chemists’ Club’s primary goals is to bridge the gap between academia and industry in the chemical and chemical engineering fields. To foster interest among the student populations of local Northeast institutions, The Chemists’ Club started student chapters to spearhead learning and training events on a local level. Becoming a student member of the The Chemists’ Club allows access to exclusive events ranging from panels in which young professionals discuss their paths through their careers, to training sessions that focus on teaching students how to better conduct themselves in professional environments.
IOTA SIGMA PI serves to promote the advancement of women in chemistry by granting recognition to women who have demonstrated superior scholastic achievement and high professional competence by election into IOTA SIGMA PI.
Alliance for Diversity in Science & Engineering (ADSE) - NYU Chapter
Our mission is to increase the participation of underrepresented groups (Women, Latinos, African-Americans, Native Americans, the LGBTQA community and persons with disabilities, etc.) in academia, industry, and government. ADSE supports, organizes, and oversees local, graduate student-run organizations that reach out to students and scientists of all ages and backgrounds. We aim to connect scientists across the nation, showcase non-traditional career paths and underrepresented minority experiences in STEM, and educate students at all levels about opportunities in the sciences.
Chemistry Graduate Student Organization
The Chemistry Graduate Student Organization is committed to promoting both friendly and professional relationships between students in the program. The organization acheives this goal by hosting numerous social and "team-building" events throughout the year. As a graduate student in a demanding program, it is easy to get completely caught up in your work and to put blinders on. The Chemistry GSO seeks to encourage students, every once and a while, t get out of the lab and socialize with their peers in a stress-free environment.
American Chemical Society - New York Section
To be a forum for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and experiences among those interested in the Chemical Sciences in ways that promote individual and professional excellence in the Chemical Community.
Graduate Women in Science (GWIS)
Our mission is to further the objectives of the national Graduate Women in Science group in the New York City greater metropolitan area. We strive to build a community to inspire, support, recognize and empower women in science by achieving these three simple goals:
CONNECT. Strive to build a powerful international network of women scientists.
LEAD. Mentor the leaders of today so that they can inspire the leaders of tomorrow.
EMPOWER. Empower women scientists to excel in their careers.
Organizational Student Life Grants (OSLG)
The Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS) is pleased to provide funding for student led initiatives designed to enhance the academic enrichment, professional development and social interests of GSAS graduate students.
The Student Senators Council (SSC), the overarching student government at NYU, is here to improve the student experience. As a large team of Senators and Presidents we advocate for and represent the interests, needs, and rights of our peers and work to solve problems at the University.
