Center for European & Mediterranean Studies
CEMS/NYU seeks a scholar specializing in one or more of the following fields: comparative European and Mediterranean politics, anthropology, sociology, or contemporary or recent European and Mediterranean history. We are particularly interested in candidates with research and/or teaching interests concerning the European Union and/or political, economic and social relations and developments in Europe. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per year (including undergraduate and graduate seminars), and a significant role in advising theses for both MA students and undergraduate seniors. Student advising is a key component of this position. Service to the program will also involve representing the Center at university occasions and committee meetings. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship and excellence in teaching, and have completed their Ph.D. no earlier than 2013.
